John
Pastor John DiCesare, January '08

John was ordained (consecrated) through SLECM, but more importantly, called by Jesus the High Priest through His word the Holy Bible "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit" to impart the good news of the love, grace and forgivness of God through the message of Jesus Christ's death and resurection. The Holy Bible says that “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”. That leaves mankind with the need for the Savior Jesus Christ because sin must be punished. Jesus Christ died on the cross and shed his blood to make that payment for the sins of all mankind. This is God's love gift to you. John now pastors Dayspring Christian Fellowship in Riverside CA.

Background: John grew up in the Assemblies of God church. John was born again 1986. John has been blessed with a wife and two children since May 1994.  By the grace of God, John has earned an Associates degree from both Pasadena City College and Golden Springs Bible College (an extension of Calvary Chapel Bible College). John has served on the staff of Thru The Bible Radio Network for four years, been involved in ministry with Calvary Chapel churches since August 1986, and has had a Christian web presence since January 1998.

Q&A

Q:  Tell how and when you became a Christian and how long you have been consistently growing in your walk with God.

A:  I grew up in an Assemblies of God Church, and although taught, never really understood the Gospel or knew Jesus personally. Then in Aug. '86 the Lord brought the gospel to me through a series of events of having a girlfriend who was a Christian, reading a gospel tract, and sister introducing me to Calvary Chapel West Covina (now Calvary Chapel Golden Springs) I just knew I needed Him, and the more I read His Word the more I realized that fact so it was then that I prayed the sinners prayer.  I starting reading a Gideons Bible, with the four gospels (Mat., Mk., Lk., Jn.) having the greatest impact on me, and ever since been growing in the Lord.  He has changed my life by giving me a new heart to love, worship and serve Him. I later attended Bible College where my walk with my Lord Jesus Christ deepened.

Q:  Describe how you pursue this growth and what God has been teaching you recently.

A:  I pursue this growth by reading His Word, prayer, fellowship, and worship.  He is always showing me that He is in control of my life and He loves me in ways I've never known. God promises that He has great plans in store for believers and as we choose to follow is leading, He will guide us on to a path of victory in every area of our life.
